“Argo” – Ben Affleck

Reviewed By: René Puerta

Directed by and starring Ben Affleck, Argo is a dramatization of the “Canadian Caper”– the famous rescue of six American diplomats from Iran during the Iran hostage crisis of 1979. Being a thriller, Argo is best appreciated when you put yourself in the shoes of one of the six escapees being rescued, who only have one shot at escaping and cannot fail. That’s what is so brilliant about the movie. The tension and suspense some of the scenes are able to create is extraordinary. The winner of the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama and the American Film Institute’s Movie of the Year award, Argo will surely be stiff competition at the Oscars.
