“Life of Pi” – Ang Lee

Reviewed By: Jacob Lorinc

Based on the novel by Yann Martel, Life of Pi tells the story of a young boy’s journey across the Pacific Ocean in only a small lifeboat. Accompanying him is an injured Zebra, a Baboon, a Hyena, and a fearsome Bengal Tiger. The visuals in this movie are amazing, and the different animals that appear throughout the movie are so life-like that you almost forget there was any animation involved at all. Without a doubt, Life of Pi is Ang Lee’s most visually spectacular movie made so far, and his ability to capture the supernatural in this story makes him a keen contender for Best Picture at the Oscars this year.
