Wear What You Want

Written By: Lee Nguyen

The title says it all folks.  Wear what you want, wear what you love, and wear what makes you feel great.

American fashion designer Donna Karan once said in a Vogue interview, “I believe in comfort. If you don’t feel comfortable in your clothes, it’s hard to think of anything else. On the other hand, when you’re relaxed you feel confident. To me, design and style should work toward making you look good and feel good without a lot of effort – so you can get on with the things that matter.”  I cannot agree more with her statement! I believe comfort and confidence are two important components in fashion that can overrule any fashion fad. I really can’t encourage you enough to wear what you find nice and comfortable, and not what you think everyone else would prefer.

High school is a time to find out who you are, and to experiment and explore the different styles and fashion the world has to offer you. It’s time to find out who you are,  and not who society wants you to be or what the norm is. So don’t get caught up in the latest fashion fads! Wear what you want and be who you want to be. And if you’re worrying about what others may think? Keep this quote in mind, because personally it always kept me in check “Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” So wear what makes you feel amazing. Wear what makes you feel comfortable in your own skin.

Individuality has never and will never be a terrible thing. Wear what makes you feel gorgeous and handsome, not what you think others will like because you are far too beautiful to be bound by what others say you have to be wearing. We are all far too beautiful to have restrictions based on what trend is currently “in” or not. We shouldn’t let that define who we are.  When you get dressed in the morning, think about what you want to wear because at the end of the day it’s really about what you want and like.

Wear whatever makes you happy.
