The boys’ hockey team is back and better than ever. The first game of the year took place on Thursday December 4th against Monarch Park. Harbord won 4-0 at Ted Reeves arena, which happens to be the same place that they were eliminated last year by Monarch Park.
Last year, the team made it to the semi finals and are hoping to get even further this year. Many of the players from last year have graduated, giving a chance for newer players to show what they can do.
With practises every week the boys are hard at work training to improve their skills. Most of the players play hockey outside of school at a range of levels.
The team is coached by Mr. Erikson and has students from all grades. “It’s a great way to meet and get to know people from other grades,” says grade 10 student, Josh Biderman. He was on the team last year and recommends joining to experienced players.
The next school Harbord is facing is Oakwood, the defending champions, at the George Bell arena. Good luck to the boys’ hockey team from all of us at Harbord. Go Tigers!
