- Go to the Pride Parade!
The annual Pride Parade happens this year on Sunday, June 28th! It starts at 2pm at Church and Bloor. Come out and support the LGBTQ community!
- Spend the day on the Island!
Toronto Island is just a short and inexpensive ferry ride away! Head on over with your bike and a few friends and spend the day catching some rays on the beach! The Ward’s Island beach is my personal favourite. There is a volleyball net on the beach and a nice café near by.
- Have a picnic in the park of your choice!
Peanut butter jelly time! Make some sandwiches, pack up a nice lunch for you and some friends and head to the park! Trinity Bellwoods, High Park, you pick! You could even bring along a frisbee or a game to play while you’re enjoying yourself outside.
- Catch up on episodes of your favourite shows!
Admit it, summer is the perfect time to catch up on all the shows you’re behind on because of summative season! Hours of free time and nothing to do… take a break in the air conditioning and be lazy for a while. You deserve it after all the hard work you (hopefully) did. Just don’t forget that being outside is nice too!
- Work on a creative summer project!
Get inspired by the sunshine and the flowers and the happy people! Draw, paint, write a song, whatever you feel like! Do it all outside!
- Read some books!
Summer is the perfect time to kick back and relax with a book! On your deck, in the park, at the beach… anywhere you like! You might even have time to read a whole series.
- Have a yard sale!
Have a bunch of old clothes and things that you don’t want anymore lying around? Think somebody else might enjoy them more than you? Sit out on your porch and sell your old stuff! You can be outside, relax, and make some money at the same time! Everyone loves yard sales! (Or at least I do.)
